Antique 18th Century Carved Wooden Statue of a Saint. It's difficult without further iconography to pinpoint exactly which saint is portrayed by this lovely wooden sculpture. Since support holes at the base are empty, one could postulate that animals or children may have been attached there. Saint Francis of Assisi or Saint Nicholas are often shown this way, holding a shepherd's hook. Seeing that this piece is well over 200 years old, we think he is in splendid repair without attendants or his staff. The woodtones are tempered by time to perfection. Warm cholcolates, deep browns and creams add to it's age old patina. Start a collection of artifacts or add this figure to your own trove of relics.
