Antique Asian furnishings are like candy to the best interior designers. We offer this very unusual vertical antique Chinese apothecary chest. While it is difficult to ascertain exact age, we think it fits the mid 19th century. Similar pieces are usually much shorter with the open area (meant to house votive figures or Buddhas) situated within the drawers. This one has an entire top shelf to store treasures, books, etc. While most are wood finished or painted with multicolors, this chest was finished in a nice neutral, cream colored paint.
