Antique Spanish Mission Style Reliquary or Tabernacle. No longer houses the sacred bone fragments of a Saint but can house your own sacred possessions. Photographs don't do this piece justice. Subtle nuances of time and use pervade it inside and out. Over the years, votive candles have scorched it here and there, as well. They merely improve this marvelous religious keepsake. Use it to host your favorite icons, a collection of liquours, or be entirely reckless and store kitchen spices within its doors.

Empire Style 5-Light Candelabra Table Lamp. This is one of the grandest lamps we have ever received. For the avid Conan Doyle fancier, or anyone who loves the elegant and transfixing Empire style, this lamp qualifies. It is constructed of very heavy gauge bronze and verde antique marble. Only the top bobeche is actually electrified. Bee's wax candles could be used in the other four. The central figure is an angel holding a basket of flowers, in parcel gilding. This piece has been recently re-wired, and it's condition is impeccable. It could be the envy of all your desk accessories, or sit as a bastion of perfection beside an easy chair. We are happy to assist in selecting an ideal shade.

Antique PAIR French Ormolu 7-Light Candelabra, Latter 19th Century. This pair of antique candelabra is rare to find at all, much less in carefully restored condition. They harken to the Gilded Age when elaborate dining tables were strewn with flower petals and fancy clad attendants catered to one's every need. Though that time may never be equaled, these candelabra have survived to offer splendor to any home, however opulent or restrained. Cherubs with wine goblets and grapes comprise the motif. They are finished in pure 24 karat gold dore which has been artfully restored to it's original state.

Antiques from the reign of George I of England are very rare. This particular king ruled for a very short time(13 years), thus pieces that strictly came from that time are scarce. It has been lovingly restored, but the finish is not new by any means. Two chests of "two over three" drawers nestle perfectly together. The older brasses suit the piece well, too. It's a very fine acquisition for a new collector or an avid one.

A pair of marble neoclassical style marble relief rondeles. The first one depicting Cupid carrying a flambeau aloft, riding on the back of a nymph. The second depicting a Nike carrying two putti. Both are framed by heavy 2 1/2" thick iron bezels. The first rondele has been exposed to more weather, and it shows more age than the latter. They are nonetheless very impressive.

Antique (Pair) Fine Silver Gilt European Candlesticks. In the trade, we call these "pricketsticks," deriving from the hand hewn iron pricket which holds the candle. Many were/are used in churches. Since water gilding with fine metal is such an expensive old trade, those used in churches were only decorated on the side showing from the alter or the niche, with the backs left unadorned. This pair, having a consistent finish on all sides, were perhaps used in a private chapel or home. Traces of missing silver and loss of gesso can be seen, but they only add to the splendid sense of age and time these beauties hold. Acanthus leaves are seen in fine examples such as this pair. Other unusual aspects include the paw feet and the clever tripod base. Use them anywhere, but they shine brightly during the holidays on the mantel.

Antique Pair of Louis XV Fauteuils. A pair of fine period chairs like these is very difficult to find. Most are either in great state of repair in a museum or submersed so deeply in family collections that they rarely surface on the market. That being the case, we offer two lovely Louis XV armchairs with old tapestry upholstery. Many would change the slightly tattered fabric, but it is serviceable and quite nice. One hind leg has been repaired with a subtle strut for support. Otherwise, they are in overall good condition. Bring them into your home like cherished friends.

Antique 19thC Black Forest Pedestal Table Some pieces of furniture are beyond description, but we will try. This stunner was created in Switzerland with craftsmanship which is almost defunct in today's world. The wood is oak. It is heavily carved with "faux bois" forest leaves and gnarly branches on the pedestal; hairy paw feet serve to support the tripod. Use it in an elegant foyer, beside a bed--any spot that longs for a real treasure. Although the piece is quite old, it's state of repair is excellent, no serious finish mars or wobbles. This is a testament to a fantastic woodworker.

Antique 18th Century French Overdoor Plaque/Pediment. Procurred from a fine European estate, this circa 1780 overdoor panel is carved from limewood with applied gesso and gold leaf. Heavy florishes and a scallop motif are resplendant across the surface. A round, gold medallion bears the initials M & A. The ground color is a warm, mottled gray brown. The plaque is in fine condition for its age barring a few losses of gesso here and there. Use it above the entrance to your "private family chapel." or prop it against a wall to just sit pretty.
