CHURCHILL's pieces have been featured in such leading fashion magazines as Vogue, Town and Country, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, W, and many others. Also, one of the few authorized retailers of Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

CHURCHILL is owned and operated by interior designer Sally Hilkene. For more than 20 years, Ms. Hilkene's work in hundreds of fine homes earned her a distinguished reputation for taste and style.

It has been Ms. Hilkene's goal to open a retail store that represents her eclectic style and interests in art, antiques, jewelry and accessories. Thus, the store prides itself on its capacity to deliver an exceptional collection of pieces with wide-ranging appeal to customers from all realms: private collectors, interior designers and everyday consumers with a great eye for quality.

Ms. Hilkene was named one of Kansas City's ultimate tastemakers as the city's trend spotter and one of the top three interior designers in the city. In 2004, Sally was selected as a member of the Designers Board at Leslie Hindman's Chicago Antiques Fair.

Ms. Hilkene also serves on a number of civic boards and organizations, and she is an active member of the Kansas City philanthropic community. A percentage of all CHURCHILL sales are donated to selected charities every month.

Testimonial:
"Dear Sally Hilkene,
How can I ever thank you for your generosity of spirit - allowing me to have my magnificent ring.
And, my visit to CHURCHILL was an unexpected adventure of pure magic and fun. The shop was created by an educated connoisseur for other connoisseurs, collectors, elegant fashionables and people who love beauty in all forms.
Another great surprise is your staff. They take such care of and show such genuine warmth towards everyone who walks through your gorgeous front doors.
Thank You,
Marian Durrett"

Churchill has been named one of America's Coolest Stores by INSTORE, the magazine for the American jewelry store owner. The Fairway, KS, business took third place in the Small Cool division for stores with five or fewer employees.

A total of 111 stores entered the ninth annual contest that highlights the best examples of independent jewelry retailers in North America.

"Every year we feel privileged to bring our readers the best of the best in our industry," said Ralf Kircher, INSTORE's executive editor. "From its marketing to its merchandising, Churchill easily falls into that category. Everything about the store is like a treasure waiting to be discovered."

Stores are judged in exterior appearance, interior appearance, store biography, advertising, website and overall individuality.

"Wow! When you go into Churchill, you've got to feel like you just walked into a jewelry treasure trove," said Patti David, one of the industry-based judges and co-owner of Zoltan David of Bee Cave, TX, winner of the 2009 Coolest Small Store. "Her eclectic assortment and beautiful ornate surroundings would make you feel like you can't leave until you've seen everything."

The top five winners in the two divisions are given trophies and featured in the August issue of INSTORE and at instoremag.com.
