Collector's love diminutives. By the sticker on the back, it appears to be English. This was the Victorian Age's answer to the furniture store, as salesmen could show their wares using miniature versions, from which shops and individuals could place orders. Today, they're highly sought after. The varnish has a dark brown, checkered apppearance, and the side panels do have age cracks which are normal shrinkage details only time creates. It's ideal to store smalls of any kind... jewelry, clips, etc.

VIntage Three Piece Diminutive 50's Upholstered Salon Suite. Acquired from an important estate, this very unique suite of miniature furniture is a rare find for collectors. Fashioned by hand in the 1940s-1950s, each piece is an individual work of art, carefully mimicing large scale furnishings of the day. Upholstery is intact on all three pieces. Ornate carved and inlaid boxes from tortoise shell and ivory were highly coveted in Victorian collections. Now, intact specimens are very difficult to find. Most have sucombed to dry weather decay and structural damage. This lovely example is in excellent condition to join your cherished collectibles. Latch is operable, but key would need to be replaced to lock.

Antique 19th Century Portrait of Napoleon on Ivory with Inlaid Ivory Frame. Fine collections of French Empire style pieces are carefully assembled over lifetimes. Often, life portraits (and death masks) of Napoleon are central to those collections. While it was probably painted in the latter 19th century, this is one of the nicest porcelain paintings of "The Little Lieutenant" we have ever featured. It is particularly unusual to find one framed with an intact ivory frame. Most like this have long since lost pieces of veneer. That's a tribute to the thoughtful Napoleonic collector who owned it. Do you have a special emperor at home who would love this?

Antique Louis XV Style Watch Stand Miniature Armoire. This wonderful detailed piece is reminiscent of the classic French Bonnetierre, only created in miniature to display a pocket watch. Behind the center opening is a nail from which to hang the timepiece. It's VERY unusual, and it could also house pipes and matches. The wood tone is actually a medium to warm brown, not the orange color as depicted.

Viennese Cold Painted Bronze Dachsund on Pillows Sculpture. For avid collectors of Viennese bronzes or anyone who loves dogs as much as we do, CHURCHILL brings you this lovely little bronze dachsund napping away. It is cold-painted with traces of turquoise, red, and gold. There is text on the top pillow which could be foundry information or a signature, or both. Underneath, one can make out the numbers 1924, which is probably the date. These figures tend to range from latter 19th century to the 1920s. This could be a Bergman Studio piece as it was purchased from an important collection. Regardless, this is one special pooch!

Rare Architectural Antique Clocktower French Birdcage. Extraordinarily rare, this curious French antique almost defies explanation. It resembles an architectural miniature of a village cathedral, yet it was created to house small birds, too. It is painted with pigments and time, giving way to lovely neutral creams,golden browns, and time-worn patina. Three sides look like architecture; the back side is a vintage birdcage. The central "tower" has the name ABARRAT in wooden lettering. It would be lovely on a mantle, a sofa table, crowning a garden conservatory, etc. Absolute collector's gold.
