Antique Figural Group of Saint Nicholas and Children, Carved Walnut, 20th Century It is unusual to see who most consider Father Christmas in such a formal, clerical way, but this is indeed Saint Nicholas, carved of hard walnut wood (one piece). He wears a church mitre and ecclesiatical robes. Beneath him are 3 children with hands in prayer in a wooden tub of water. Details are crisp, and the entire piece is in good general condition. He once held a staff or shepherd's hook in his left hand, which has been lost.
