Antique Pair of French Restoration Style Silver Gilt Candleholders. This substantial pair of candleholders came through a chain of hands and a very affluent estate. They were purchased as "French Restoration--17th Century." We are inclined to agree, though we have marked as Restoration style. All the indicators are right, shrinkage, true furniture worms, expert water gilding, etc. Turned on an early lathe and hand detailed, each varies slightly. They are outstanding by any measure. Approximate Dimensions: 5"Diameters. One measures 10 1/2"H; the other 10"H.
