Becky Kelso Topaz and Aquamarine Chandelier Earring in 14K Yellow Gold for pierced ears. These earrings measure approximately 2" long. Jewelry designer Becky Kelso understands the intrinsic value of creating from the heart, rather than simply following trends. Born into a family of artists, Kelso is passionately committed to integrating her work with all forms of her personal creative expression. She describes herself as a designer routinely inspired by fashion and pop culture but firmly grounded in the artistry of her craft. Early in life, Becky was en route to becoming a costume designer. She attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles while working as a wardrobe stylist in Hollywood for editorial and film. During a two year detour living abroad in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Becky immersed herself in the rich cultural traditions of the country and began to explore the art of jewelry making. She served as an apprentice to local jeweler Billy King, honed her skills as a silversmith, and debuted her own collection in 1995 in New York City. Kelso's various collections showcase artful and timeless pieces that reveal influences gathered from her travels to Morocco, Asia, and Turkey. Each intricate design retains a classic antique aesthetic, but is overall organic, imaginative, and modern. With such gracefulness and intimacy found in all of Kelso's delicate creations, it is no wonder that her jewelry is highly sought after by some of Hollywood's more notable icons, including Cate Blanchett, Penelope Cruz, Sandra Bullock, Jessica Biel, and Naomi Watts. Her designs have graced the covers and features of magazines across the globe, including British Vogue, Italian Elle, Instyle, The New York Times, and Martha Stewart Weddings. She has designed for Banana Republic and showcased her chandeliers and distinctively crafted rings to luxury retailers such as Barneys, Neiman Marcus, Isetan, and Saks Fifth Avenue. She sells to over 100 specialty boutiques, galleries and jewelry stores in the U.S., Canada, Japan, and the UK. Her jewelry is handcrafted on her farm in Sebastopol, California by fellow artisans and working mothers, all of whom receive a fair wage, flexible schedule, health insurance, paid holiday and sick leave. She uses environmentally sustainable supplies and only the finest materials to produce inspired and exemplary works of art.
